What now?

Seems it's not supported anymore. I use the App to look at my uploads on the Panny for a reference on pic quality.

I have a free sat box with the app but the quality is rubbish via HDMI.

Any suggestions for easy high quality casting.

Amazon Firestick? I think you can get YouTube even if you don't have Prime.

Well I tried a Firestick.

Quality just isn't there as compared to the native app so I reckon without spending a few quid and trial and error it's not worth the bother.

Only had the telly a couple of years and now one of it's functions that I actually used a lot is defunct.

Had this myself last year when Panasonic stopped supporting YouTube on my plasma.....felt robbed tbh

I bought a Minix box as a media hub to make up for the loss of YouTube app ..... Not as easy as YouTube on the tv but it does have many other advantages

After doing some delving i think its down to Youtube changing how the videos packaged, not Panasonic. Would need a new app to support it.

The Chromecast will do 1080p/60fps and YouTube will output the same, source and wifi strength permitting

Got the same issue with non-support from Panasonic on the vt65 - the Skype app and Netflix are both dead on ours and no sign of a software/firmware update since the TV was about 6 months old!

Got fed up chasing my tail with John Lewis and Panasonic to try and establish when it might be 'fixed'

Seems shoddy service on a £2k 'smart' TV that a load of the features stop working because the TV manufacturer can't be arsed to develop the firmware to keep pace with the service providers they've marketed as coming with the TV.

We use Netflix a lot, but now have to switch to the YouView box with its clunky OS.

Shame the TV webcam isn't removable, because it ain't any use at all now....

When did your Netflix go down?

Our Netflix is still working. Wife was watching it last night.

I have the same TV and use Netflix through Apple TV. It's not expensive and the quality is good.

January, after accepting revised t&c's

Throws an error message which may relate to ISP changes (we're with Virgin for BB)

It's a known issue

Just get a Chromecast. They cost nothing and will do 1080 YouTube/Netflix/everything else over HDMI. Plus you can cast things from your phone or tablet as well as a computer. Makes life so much easier.

True, but then you've got to faff about with an app to control the thing and either leave it dangling out the back of your TV or run another HDMI cable somewhere suitable. It's the irritation factor of a non-functional 'smart' feature that should be seamless in operation straight from the TV. I have absolutely zero need to stream anything via my phone or tablet - my media is all on a server on the network.

The Humax Netflix app is OK, but the menus are slow to react on the Humax even after multiple firmware updates. It works but involves far more button presses. My 6 year old son manages it perfectly well - my wife, less so!

I've come to the conclusion that the "Smart" features on TVs are a waste of time. The apps don't get updated to support new services, and their accessibility and playback of e.g. DLNA streamed content is ropey at best.

Best thing is just to treat the TV as a monitor and use a separate device for controlling access to streamed content.

I got an m8 android TV box after they stopped supporting my TV's YouTube function.
It's great. Only £35 and it can play in 4k and run kodi as well as all the tubes and flix's.

Guess what?

It's working again!

I accidently clicked to cast to the tv instead of the firestick and it worked.

None of the big manufacturers bother to support their TV's with proper updates, they'd rather you buy a new set. Which is why buying a TV for it's SMART features is utter folly IMHO. Buy it purely on the picture quality. For SMART features, buy a Blu-Ray player for £150 and then replace it every couple of years, if needed.
