911 Brake Squeal

Brought a used 911 911.1 from OPC few months back. All was good until I started to get brake squeal as I brake. It comes on at low speeds as car about to stop. Tried usual hard stop tricks but didnt work. OPC took it in and greased pads (they were new) and went away for while but now back.

Its annoying as in summer have window down and listening out for the exhaust tones.

Any advice? Is this perhaps just normal for a 911. Looked around in other forums and seems it might be.

Could be hard pads. Had some PF (performance Friction) on mine for a short while. Couldn't stand squealing at low speed road driving. In the end went back to standard.

As above, ascertain what pads you have and if hard/competition based, change for oe if not try some Mintex Ceratec paste on the rear of the pads.

Mine does it too.

it does it on it's winter wheels and also on it's summer wheels.

This is my second 991.1 and the last one did it also.

Mine did that too, from new (to me), 991.1 and OPC eventually agreed to replace front pads and discs as they were badly scored.

The squeak was dreadful though.

Thank will find out what pads they put on - on OPC invoice just says P991.251.949.02

spoke to the OPC guy who sold me car said they would chat with engineer and think what to do - anything I should be pushing for?

not on a 911 but had major issues on my M5 which I bought new two years ago. Took three visits and eventually they replaced the front calipers after having replaced the pads and discs previously. It drove me mad.

Be relentless because it shouldn't squeal. it will ruin your enjoyment. Certainly did mine.

So figured out its the front pads cuusing this and it has new (few months old) Brembo pads. OPC still figuring out the best way to resolve this issue.

I think you will need new pads, they may try and deglaze them but I'm not sure if that's only a temporary fix.

Was told by a braked specialistic your suffering from brake squeal its the gases struggling to escape between disc and pad. Solution they came up with was to saw a grove through middle off pads affected,top to bottom and if discs are ventilated clean all exit chambers, if drilled clean holes..
