Time for a new mistress
Discussion
It is with a very sad heart that I have decided I need to sell my V8 Vantage
Having been together for nearly 5 years we have had many adventures, I have made her very personal to me over the years and always thought of her as a keeper.
So why change, well at Christmas I suffered a bad back which has turned out to be a prolapsed disc 6 months on still painful lmeaning I haven't been able to use the Vantage as every time I drive my Vantage it agrevates the problem!
So I have looked around and tried a few others including the new F type v8, Bentley Continental and even a couple of Porsches but non have captured my heart.
Last week I took the decision to try a Sport shift Vantage V8 and what do you know it is a great drive and within 10 minutes I am hooked.
So now I am on the hunt for a good replacement if anyone knows if a suitable candidate please pm me the wish list is this.
2008 onwards preferably 4.7ltr coupe in Tungston, Toro Red of White l would prefer a non black interior I am a real fan of Iron Ore red.
So starts a new chapter.

Is it only changing gear that aggravates your back?
(I prolapsed a disc 10yrs ago. I have private health cover and was sent to a specialist in St Johns Wood. He did a procedure where I was put under general anaesthetic and they injected my spine with something - epidural that also flushed some of the crud away is how I recall him describing it. My back's been fine since - touching wood! Stiffens up a bit when it's cold, and I have a chair that's decent for my back plus a tempur bed, but unbelievable results. Prior to the procedure it was the most painful experience I've had).

Hi Murph
Like you I prolapsed a disc 10 years ago would you believe putting a bottle of milk into the fridge!!
I have been to a specialist this time which is how I know the cause however he said it should go on its own but no joy in 4 months.
Will be giving him a call in the morning so thank you for your experience.
Funnily enough my last car was a 911 Tubo tip which was OK hence why I wanted a manual however I wish I had tried the Sport shift it is really very good when you drive it prperly.

Drove a Sportshift Aston a while back. Wasn't a fan. It was like the first gen' Ferrari box. I suspect this will be an area that the AMG hook up will benefit.
I asked as I would have thought areas other than the gear shift would upset your back situation...so moving from one Aston to another might not help.

Hi Murph
My back is a lot better than it was as I used to have very painful Sciatica as well.
I had a lightened Flywheel and twin plate clutch upgrade by BR a couple of years ago and although the clutch is great you have to be very accurate with your peddle pressure especially when pulling away or reversing it is this strain that appears to cause the issue in the back!!
BR do an upgrade for Sport shift which over comes the bad traits and makes the system much more positive and therefore drivable, I even thought of having my car converted but it doesn't make economic sense.
Thank you again for your thoughts really appreciated because as you say it is a horrible condition.
