Oi!. I said I'd help not organise the whole thing. This is still in discussion so not confirmed as yet. I was instructed to hold fire until the committee had discussed it further. Would be a good day out though.

Went there a couple of years ago with the Berks TVRCC mob, I think it was the same event? We were assigned parking by the museum which is good for 30 mins wander round. I suppose there wasn't enough there to hold our attention for a full day but if the weather's nice take a picnic and just relax. It a historic place but has a distinctly amateur/enthusiast feel to it. Rich...

Cheeky git . And this from someone who's never done a hard days work in his life. If the committee give Brooklands the go-ahead it should be a good day.

I hope you're shouting for Wales this weekend

I've been to this (and the motorsport versions) for about 3 years. It is quite a nice relaxed meet and there is often the chance to run cars up 'test hill'. It is only a very steep straight piece of road which was used to test car's acceleration and braking (in the 20's and 30's I think).

Brooklands also sometimes let the MG XSport boys make a mini course to drive around and even sometimes use the banked sections. It was great fun the last time they did this and managed to tear the rear wheel off a rally car!!! (Fixed it on the spot too - so well done to them.)

It is usually TVR-friendly as every time I have turned up in a wedge, they have let me park in with the exhibits at the front. (This really Pi**ed off the driver of a Renault Alpine A10 Turbo behind me because they made him park in the car park during the motorsport event even though there was a Renault Alpine display!)

(I'm not sure what is planned this year.)I'll try to find the link for more details.

Some Brooklands links...
(a fascinating place if you are into old cars/racing/planes)

How about the Napier-Railton (record-holding 24 litre aero-engined car with no seatbelts and barely any floor)!
