Looks like they're reacting to the under-specced Xbox One in a big way.

Eurogamer said:
Microsoft believes it will be the most powerful console on the market. "The box we're building is incredible," said one unidentified Microsoft engineer in a video. "It's going to have eight CPU cores, over 320GB/s of memory bandwidth, 6 teraflops of GPU power. It's a monster." Xbox head Phil Spencer said he believes it's the most powerful console ever built.
Christmas 2017! Can't wait – I was a Day One Xbox Oner and can't wait to get an excuse to buy a 4K TV and essentially have a high-end gaming PC in the lounge wink

I just sold my 500gb One with Kinect for £190 last week through lack of use although seeing the new Battlefield 1 has given me second thoughts. As useless as the Kinect sensor was, if I can get a new slimline one for £210 then that's pretty decent.

I thought the life cycle is 10 years , xb1 has only been out for 3 so 4 years seems a bit premature.

Life cycle of 10 years does not mean being th etop console in the range for those 10 years.

Typically its 5-6 years before a new model, xb1 was underpowered so is getting updated (not really replaced) after 4.

Wouldn't the Xbox One S be v2 and Scorpio v3?
