"Shoot 'Em Ups" for the XBox One
Discussion
I am being nagged to "invest" in an XBox One, as my 360 is - and I quote - "like, well prehistoric now". Now the kids will be happy playing "Beezer Homes League Manager 3" or whatever dungeons and dragons game they're into for the duration of any particular given nanosecond, but whenever I get a brief, fleeting period of "me time" I do occasionally like to lock 'n' load and (virtually) shoot various enemies in the head.
I have previous with the Call Of Duty franchise (and Ghost Recon) but I'm not a massive fan of the futuristic, hi tech approach these games are taking these days. Give me a good old LMG or a decent sniper rifle any day.
Can anyone recommend any "old school" shooty shooty games that benefit from the improved graphics of the One?

Do you mean FPS games? Doom probably for single player or one of the COD's or battlefield for multiplayer.
If you mean side-scrolling shooters then super time force is meant to be really good. If you die your original play through starts again but you also get a new character so there are now two of you on the screen....then if you die again those two versions play and you are the third person on the screen...etc.
Different chars have different abilities so you could start the mission as a shield guy and run up to a boss and deploy the shield for a couple of minutes. Die. Come back as a shooting guy, run up behind your own shield from the first time through and shoot the boss easily from behind cover.
