Mercedes are wanting huge deposits on C Class or they do at the garage my OH went to anyway.

On top of that the young sales guy we were dealing with was ok however they used the old tactic of getting the sales manager to sit behind us (which we didn't notice) who then proceeded to listen into our conversation when the young sales guy stepped away from us and convey to him what we were saying then became borderline abusive when we wouldn't take the overpriced deal.

We left and the OH just ordered the car he wanted from an online car leasing company (Rivervale) at a much lower cost.

Which dealership was it?
Ironically I found the sales teams worse than the aftercare teams too!

I wasn't too happy with Birmingham, but Sheffield and Grimsby have been wonderful.
What prices were you quoted for the C-Class? Was it the couple/cabrio?

The C43 AMG does look interesting.

I've had the same experience at Mercedes Benz Glasgow Stratstone. The office based Service Team are utterly incompetent and useless. Now and again I still get calls from MB Glasgow and advise they will never have my business again due to previous experiences.

If Sales also have this poor customer service mentality, overall it really doesn't paint a good picture for this branch..

Such a shame we have a lack of options in the West of Scotland for MB dealers.

Sadly i can only echo the poor experience from MB Glasgow city centre. Went there in sep 2015, looking to buy a used (13 plate) cls 350cdi in white. Phoned on the wednesday and told them id be in on saturday at a prearranged time.. Attended on saturday and the salesman i spoke to was busy- no problem i thought- i then looked for the car and it was buried right at the back of the lot, filthy with several large scrapes and bashes on it! The wheels were also kerbed. I told the salesman that i wasnt impressed. He apologised, and after 15 minutes of trying to find the keys of all the other cars blocking it in took me for a test drive... Only problem was there was no fuel in it! When we got back to the dealership he gave me a ridiculously expensive change over price and was extremely arrogant telling me "we are mercedes we dont need to discount!!" I laughed and told him that i had worked in sales in porsche and bmw before and his attitude was terrible. I ended up buying a newer higher specced cls from a dealer downsouth for less money and the buying experience was great! Emailed mb uk to complain and was contacted back by the dealer principle at MB Glasgow. He basically made several excuses and said that he would welcome me back to the dealership. I told him that i wouldnt be going back and he had lost £30k worth of business due to his arrogant and incompetant staff. Never again!!

Talk to the guys at Marshalls Blackpool, I know they're nowhere near you but they will deliver a car to the nearest dealership to you(which is a very polite way of sticking your fingers up at your local dealership) so you don't even have to go down to them.
