Unlikely to have been just a new door to Cat-D a £20K+ car. Possibly some sill damage too, bending the floor.

If the seller can show you the pictures of the damage and repair bills to prove it was Porsche, then it might be okay.

Otherwise, there should be a pretty big reduction (several £1000), because you're risking buying a car that never quite drives 'right'.

PPI and alignment check a must on this one, I would say.

Its not just about at what price you can sell it but IF you can sell it. Most dealers won't buy a Cat C/D car at any price. I once bought a Cat D AM Vanquish form a friend in the trade as my own car and valued it at 50% of what similar none recorded cars were offered at.

For a few K more buy a none recorded car and when you come to sell it will still be worth a few K more. False economy buying a recorded car to save only a few ££

Some insurance companies won't insure them either
