Hi guys,

Me and a mate got here yesterday during the huge downpour... All set up now and enjoying it.
After watching loads of YouTube vids of the antics/burnouts etc I'm wondering where this all happens?

I'm in Blue Nord in a blue VW camper and tent, if you're about, pop in for a cold one.

If you look on YouTube at mad Friday 2015 I'm inclined to disagree. Looks like it still happens, just may have been moved.

Just watched said video. At 1:17 a complete PrcensoredK throws a bottle or can at the GTR for not wheel spinning on command. I'd have to get out and fill the guy in for that.

Can't stand brits on the pcensoreds at the best of times. will never miss the mad bit of mad Friday. Especially when idiots damage cars because they don't perform for them on command. The guy should bring his own motor if that's what he wants.

Yeah that's pretty poor form doing something like that, a few burnouts never hurt anyone, but taking it further like that... Need a good shoeing.

Still happens, was really bad late Friday night last year. Friend of mine was warned against driving any further by a helpful Brit and ended up parking and kipping on a locals drive.

Good job too, lots of bottles being thrown, even attempts at setting fire to passing cars at one point

Been going since 1996, never been to and never wanted to go to Mad Friday. Don't understand out-of-their-mind thugs doing their best to wreck other peoples' pride and joy in the name of supposedly good fun. They are not even man enough to take their own cars to Mad Friday.

I'm not sure I would call it Mad Friday anymore. I think "War Friday" is better but most of the action is at BSJ roundabout. DON'T DRIVE DOWN THERE THOUGH. sillywobble

We recovered some gents last year and towed them in. As they were arriving at BSJ we had to go in via the roundabout. It was very unpleasant the idiots jumping between the two cars and trying to set fire to the tow rope.

It's all relative I suppose but IMHO significantly tamer than previous years it's just now there's quite an intimidatory aspect to it all.

When i first came in 2007, there was some good natured fun outside the pub on the mulsanne, and it seemed to have got worse every year since and the gendarmes closing it down it moved to bsj but ive been nowhere near it in years, for the best by the sounds of it

Been coming since 2003, last year was the worst I've seen but as previously said, it's moved location. The amount of glass smashing was ridiculous last year

Last year was really poor at the mulsanne on friday morning. For the last 5 years my son and i was always the first at the roadside by the bar at 8.30 in the morning ( dark red 355 spider).
Last year as soon as we stopped by the bar i was moved on by the police, even when we stopped for photos on the corner a cop car came. I had the sense that maybe the friday mulsanne meets was over.
The whole atmosphere has been lost over the last few years, this clearly is because of the A holes who are idiots in other different areas of the lemans area, areas that even i never ventured to.
Its just that in places like the mulsanne straight on a friday were always good natured and have now been Policed out of existence because of all the sillynes.
I have chosen not to be there this year after 9 years, i go to the classic lemans every two years. That now is my lemans of choice, see you there next month smile

Mad Friday used to be such a good laugh, probably pretty dangerous, but pre 2000 it was great around the track and in the campsite. Shame it descended so much.....

There were still crowds around Mulsanne and Arnage today. It was all quite good natured. Not many burn outs though. The big difference for me was in town on Friday night. Much quieter than previous years. Maybe everyone is at the football?

Hi Fezspider,

Take it that's Charlie!

Tim here with the GTS who saw you last year on that Friday morning. Yes those cops did indeed move us on!

I've also chosen not to go this year-would of been my tenth year, maybe leave it for a year or two I think.

Hi, Tim. Yes its not the same as it was is it? I to wont bother for a couple of years, i found the whole thing hard work.
Even the " British welcome" car show has become very hard work compared to how it used to be, now its far to full and backed up.
You should try the classic lemans mate, the race cars are way more accessible, especialy with paddoc passes. Its a blast.
Hope to see you and your palls again mate. Take care. Chaz
