Haynes International Motor Museum
Discussion
Hi All,
I just took the VXR8 down to Somerset for the day to visit the Haynes International Motor Museum at Sparkford. If you haven't been before, drag yourselves down there sometime soon. They have an incredible collection of cars (motorcycles too) and there really is something for everyone.
They do a Sunday breakfast meet too if you're down that neck of the woods. The PH 'South West' forum has some great pics of the meet. May be worth a group cruise one day - over 15 people get discounted entry.
There's also a Rare Breeds 100 meet on Sunday 4th September - so if you've something unusual you'd like to display check out the "What's On" section of their website (link at bottom of post)
Not sure why I've not visited this one before. Tis a grand day out.
Here's a few snaps...

1936 Auburn 852 Supercharged Boat Tail speedster - my personal favourite (It's a real tough decision with 400 exhibits)

1952 Aston Martin DB2

1958 Chevrolet Corvette

1958 Facel Vega HK 500 in the "Red Room"

1919 Daimler Light Thirty Phaeton

Memory Lane

The American Collection

1935 Cord Beverly

Wow! That's fantastic Ambleton. Many years ago I helped restore the wheels and brakes on my bosses 1929? Talbot boat tail. HUGE drums all round and the spoked wheels we filled, smoothed and sprayed with an airbrush from EIGHT directions. Looked like black mirrors when we were done. I left the company sometime later but was reliably informed he'd drive it into work on occasions once completed. Better than being a trailer queen. Use it as intended.
And Oh!, That Auburn is such a stunner. Love my Aussie Monaro's (HK, HT, HG & HQ) love my Old-School US Muscle and many more but that 852 is a real beauty. Stuff that dreams are made of...
