Daggart's Cerbera,what a mess!.
Discussion
Daggart,i went to
last weekend and saw your Cerbera in a right mess sat in their bottom car park.I couldn't believe it,is this the way they treat all customers cars?.I could see the engine is still out and that the body work had been damaged on the A pillar on the drivers side.I know you've had a lot of trouble with this car, mainly with the engine, but to see the car now it was hard to recognise it as yours. You must be gutted!.
I know the car is up for sale,so whats happening?.If it was my car it would be in the hands of the solicitors by now!!.
Sorry, name removed as not to contravene naming and shaming policy.

Forgive my ignorance, if its on another thread, but What happend?
Its a very long and sad story...started around the time of this thread... www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=93783&f=6&h=0&hw=Daggart ...which then went to this... www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=127635&f=6&h=0&hw=Daggart ...to this... www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=134779&f=6&h=0&hw=Daggart ...and then to this... www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=146088&f=6&h=0&hw=Daggart ....diabolical if you ask me! Any other Cerbera owner would probably strung himself up by now, I know I would have! Daggart's definately had a very short straw in Cerbera ownership and my sincere sympathy's are with him....
Perhaps this is the sort of Bitter we should talk about then?

I wander if this place thats wrecked your life in TVR ownership has done or is in the process of or will in the future shag someone else up the back door...
Can someone start a new website, call it:
www.nameandshame.co.uk
You could probably get it hosted in china or india or somewhere to be legally out of bounds unless its breaking international laws which naming and shaming is freedom of opinion an speech so should be a fair site.... bang in a section for autos - and then a section for TVR... hmmmm.... I've got a number of naming and shamings to do from my past experiences... but then people do change, their experience gets better... and people make mistakes... who gives a shit, at the end of the day you pay your money and you expect 100% satisfaction... you aint dealing with freakin delboy or frank butcher here...
Step 1:
The Law.
if the above dont work, then continue...
Step 2:
Walk into said premises with a few 'mates' and sort it out in wild west stylee..
if the above dont work or not possible, then continue...
Step 3:
Hire a F-117a, and bomb the shit out of the place (make sure fellow pistonheaders cars are not parked in there, unless they dont mind a 'nice' insurance payout
)
if you cant do the above then continue....
Step 4:

Had a previous bad experience have we?
a few tiv ownerships, and a number of 'naive' bad experiences... now I carry an arsenal of experience based knowledge and have a black-book with specialists.... all I need now is a BIG garage so I can do everything myself... geeez, I can do everything else I put my mind to - I'm sure I can turn a few bolts here and there...
Was talking to someone this week and got the 'other' side of one particular story that was relayed on here. Suffice to say it's always fascinating to compare both sides of the story.
Not for one minute am I suggesting that's the case here, but it once again left me firmly committed to the no naming and shaming rule.

Damn you LA, you never cease to amaze me with your poetically illustrated opinions...
We all agree, but I also see the 'balanced' view of Ted, there can be evil on either side of the story, and dealers are not in the practice of getting on here and responding and could be left to rott with bad exposure for a fault which was not even their own.
I still think an independant website for automotive complaints should exist where anyone looking for a particular make and model can go on and see which dealers are rated highly and which are not and read about the 'not' cases...
Unless Pistonheads starts a section called "Name & Shame" and puts in a BIG legal disclaimer... that would be extremely fun to read, so many come on here just to explode their fustration at the poor service they get - sadly, that seems to be the way british companies work generally, get your money and doors closed - bassids!

Like I said, I wasn't for one minute suggesting that your case wasn't valid, just that other cases I've been involved with haven't been clear cut despite what one party has said.
Given those situations, I don't have the facilities to make a judgement on whether a fair case is being presented or not, so I have to ask that people don't name names.
If I could I would - it would be a fascinating subject

I too have heard the other side to this story, from the horse's mouth so to speak.
It is unfair to make judgements (TVR Phoenix, LA) without both sides of the story. I for one uphold Ted's no name and shame ruling - set up your own name and shame website if you must. Perhaps LA could set one up on the other side of the pond should he feel that strongly about it?

I say "Name em & shame em"
Freedom of speech is very important to us all, many have laid down their lives to protect this virtue.
If someone feels strongly about naming an individual or Company that has given a bad experience or disservice, let them have this right.
It is down to the individual who posts this information to suffer the possibility of any legal repercussions. If the offended party does take adverse reaction to a "naming and shaming" they have the opportunity to put their side in print. (the fact that most of the time they are too busy or can not be bothered, should not be at the detriment of other possible innocents suffering the same disservice)
Daggart....I am most sorry for you, and hope you are soon compensated for your frustrations and patience.
It is time we started to hit back at these so called "Specialist / Dealears" and so forth, who are willing to count your cash without giving a TOTAL back-up service when the sticky stuff hits the fan.

Sadly it's not that simple. I as a host of a forum that moderates content am also implicated in what gets published here (there are clear legal precedents on this).
Personally I also feel it's wrong as - to reiterate - the stories presented aren't always fair representations of the facts. If no names are mentioned then no great harm is done. If reputations were to be tarnished unfairly then I would feel responsible for not taking action to prevent that happening.
