My pride & joy 1992 Pro-Carbon mtb is off the road because I can't find a spare part. It has Shimano XT BR-M732 cantilever brakes and the plastic spring cover exploded last week. I can buy a full unit off ebay for £50 but seems daft to scrap a full unit for a plastic cover. I don't suppose anyone has a spare one lying in that box of bits in the shed?

It's just the plastic cover on the left of the photo's that is needed.

Thx

Moto

I've got a Shimano cap, but it's slightly different to yours, it doesn't have the pip on the side...

Gazza. Thx for looking, really appreciated. I got a similar Shimano one from a local bike shop this pm but like yours it doesn't have the pointed bit and it's slightly shallower. I think it's from the M730 (slightly earlier design). I'm going to try it in the morning to see if it works as a usable stop gap - fingers crossed, until I can find the correct one. Thanks again but I am a bit smitten with my bike so desperate to keep it as original so will keep looking.

Cheers Moto

Gazza,

I try to avoid Facebook as I don't find it makes much sense to me - either it's totally illogical or I am! PH on the other hand seems totally straight forward and logical.
