Front brake rotors

I am in the process of replacing my front rotors.

I know there are 2 Heights of rotors -
My car has 53mm, but the new rotors that I got are the 58mm ones.

My question is if I remove the washer on the back of the caliper mount - can I use the 58mm ones? Looks like the bracket will line up...
