Information request !
Can anyone help with the current speed limit through the east/west average speed section of the A14 dual carriageway at Cambridge. Last time I used the route it was 50mph. However
yesterday it appears to have reverted to 70mph. Is this correct?
many thanks

Why do you need to know? You stand very little chance of doing more than 60 on a good day.
In fact, I must be due a refund of some sorts by now, my daily average is normally 27mph on my journey to work although last week I did manage 17 mph average for most of it.

That's actually a very good point.

I think I'd be quite chuffed to get a speeding ticket from those cameras biggrin

Obviously using it in rush hour i guess?

Many a time. Cruised through with cruise set at 76.

I still don't see how. That road has traffic jams at 3pm on a Sunday afternoon, I'm very lucky to see anything approaching 70 on any day unless it's very late in the evening (excluding Fridays!) or the early hours of the morning (excluding Mondays).

thanks for the information
not a great deal of traffic early am today heading west apart from a camera van in a dark blue paint livery on a bridge just after the Cambridge exit. Not a colour I'm familiar with having come from Cornwall where they are quite brightly. skickered

Probably ANPR checking for uninsured & untaxed vehicles.

bks. I use that road regularly, middle of day and weekends. 9 times out of 10 its cruise on 75 straight through, either way.

Which stretch of the A14 do you use? I'm talking about the bit between Huntingdon & Cambridge, other sections are admittedly much less busy.

Did the A1 to M11 stretch today. 73 on cruise both ways.

Wouldn't be able to do it at 7.30 on a weekday!!!!

I did the whole of that bit a week last Thursday, arriving in Cambridge about 8pm, and didn't drop below 60 the whole way. Admittedly the other carriageway looked a bit sticky!
