Bring bike back from Asia

Currently in asia, gonna buy a bike out here to use here, and then bring it back with me.
My question is, I know there's a 390 limit of goods to bring back, and I know there's 15 percent duty and 20 percent vat on a bike. I've been offered a bike heavily discounted, but not under £390. But, I can get a genuine receipt from the shop to say it was.
Obviously, I'd be paying the receipted amount on credit card, and the rest cash. The bike is worth a lot more than 390, not a ridiculous amount more but a good few hundred quid. UK price is a lot more obviously! As long as I have a receipt from the shop, can customs do anything? I'm in a 3rd world/developing country, receipts aren't always given.
And yes, I realise it's illegal to no declare goods.
