M2 - more power!
Discussion
Hey
Its a new car but not a new platform. The n55 looks to have a very aggressive tune out of the box.
So far not many ponies to be had without changing a turbo and switching fuel systems. Downpipe/remap not looking as lucrative as it is on an S55.
Check some of the BMW specific forums.

Has anyone heard of anyone who provides a remap for the M2 yet? Am sure there are plenty more ponies to be released from that engine....
Mine arrives in 2 weeks and just planning what to do with it performance-wise after a couple of months
thanks

It looks that the turbo is a unique part to the M2, and all manufacturers leave some headroom in the engine.Mine arrives in 2 weeks and just planning what to do with it performance-wise after a couple of months

Have a look here http://www.bmwblog.com/2015/10/22/manhart-racing-s...
They state that it is a remap and a new set of cat-less downpipes to release 450bhp, so that should be a good start.
Whatever you choose to do, good luck with the car and I bet you're excited about getting it! Congrats.
That manhartt article is from October 2015, before anyone had a car yet.
The turbo is a different part number but crucially the same size as the turbo on an m235i.
Take a look at this thread from the guys who make the popular Jb4 http://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=...
I'm not laying into the M2, I've had mine since March and I think its great, but there isn't a huge amount of headroom for improvement with just a tune and a downpipe.

Go and do some research before you all regurgitate the mantra that turbo cars have a massive glut of power waiting to be unleashed.

Thats a downpipe, intercooler and ECU flash. It's a gain but this isn't a platform that has a huge amount of headroom out of the box because it is already being pushed very hard.
To get really big numbers you need to change the fuel system and the turbo.

And those 'gains' still need to be taken with a pinch of non-USA salt....especially when you see the phrase...http://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=...

"After finishing up the tuning on our Mustang dyno we drove over to a local shop to get some Dynojet numbers."
Translated...
"The gains we were seeing in the real world weren't looking good so we took it to a Dynojet to get some nicely inflated figures instead."
