Yes - bl00dy hell!!
I'm soooo glad I don't live in a big city, this is much worse even than the scamera gangs!!

1.8million people ticketed in 1992 by police, interested in keeping the traffic moving.

5million ticked now by 'people' wanting to issue tickets (and leaving your credit card details (full details) in other peoples wheely bins!!

Good god.

It also confirmed a long-standing suspicion of mine.

Ticketing anyone attending the local "place-of-worship" is strictly out of bounds for political reasons.

Anyone who wants the torrent file for this, please email me.

Note: A torrent file isn't actually the programme.

cant remember the exact date, but in Reading there was a situation where a traffic warden ticketed scores of cars parked directly outside a church, where I believe a child’s funeral was taking place. The mayor ended up paying for every ticket out of his own pocket if memory serves, as he was so disgusted with the action of the warden, as it was obvious why the cars were there, and where the owners were.

I can well understand how that might whip up the reactions of readers etc...

It does, however, beg the question WHY were double yellows (or whatever restrictions they were)...were in force?
Was the street particularly dangerous....
if so...presumably the funeral wasn't sprung from the blue and perhaps sensible parking might mean other children might be able to cross the road safely.

I'm not meaning to sound unfeeling with the post...just wondering WHY the restrictions were present outside the church.

Hiya..

The revenue from parking seems to be different up and down the country...

London seems mad on the enforcement...whilst elsewhere....lots of places don't seem to give a monkeys....
My force has got rid of all the traffic wardens and the PCSOs don't seem to enforce the parking laws whatsoever....
Beat bobbies don't do...and trafpol never do..(unless it's zig zags)

With all due respect to anyone attending a religious building, be it a mosque, church, synagogue or whatever, why should they be exempt from parking regulations? Sure, have more disabled spaces in the area but it shouldn't be a free for all. Anecdotal evidence would suggest that a lot of people who go to church are elderly and as such might need some degree of 'protection' from poor parking which might create a hazard.

I remememer the Alf Garnet's speech as he passed by a church that had the sign up outside;

JESUS SAVES

To which Alf replied "He wouldn't be able to do that on my bleedin' pension..!"
