I am picking up the new liz in a weeks time, and am considering some small tweeks for starters.

I would really like to go for the whole induction kit, but i dont want the noise to scare the life out of the wife , as she was good enough to let me get the car in the first place, and test drove it in its current standard form. So hunting around the usual online shops i noticed that you can replace the OEM panel filter with a K&N or ITG product. I am not too worried about any performance differance, but is the engine noise subtile or significant enough to warrrent spending the dosh.

Also would you need to declare this to your insurance company as an upgraded item????

Hello,
if you replace the whole induction system with a hurracaine the noise is not loud at all, it just lets the engine beathe better thus you can hear the air intake! your wife will only notice a slight differance under heavy load and its very unoffencive! only when coupled with a sport zorst and de-cat does it become really noticable in the cabin.
So go on buy the real deal and not just the panel filter!!!
HAVE FUN AND SAFE DRIVING..

Replacing the panel filter will make no difference to the inductiom noise at all but it will allow the engine to breathe better.

If you're after an induction kit to improve the sound but don't want it to be OTT then the Hurricane is your best option. Not cheap tho, but very good quality.

Horses for courses really, I'm more intersted in better breathing and colder air inducton so I would tend to go for a totally closed system which is fairly quiet.
