Ted - I`ve just noticed the ad for AA Insurance on here. Are we now to be slightly more "vague" when discussing motoring organisations?

The AA adverts for car insurance make me laugh - "You could have saved money because the AA promise to get you the best quote they can."

Well, their quotes are pretty crap. On the odd occasion I have called them they have been the most expensive by a massive margin.

Still, I guess they have to fund the massive offices they now occupy and all the other areas of business they seem to have gotten themselves into. Loans, Insurance, Credit Cards (classy to pay with an AA credit card - I don't think), and now they even fancy themselves as a bank, offering a savings account.

Perhaps they should just stick to fixing your car if it breaks down.

I saw an ad on here earlier that looked like a guy wearing one of those hoola hoops whilst pissing into a small pond.

Just acknowledge the fact that they help pay the bills If you're not a fan, take comfort from the fact that they are helping to keep PH alive and kicking (and screaming) The guy in the hoola hoop pissing in a pond is a PHer

AA insurance was always the cheapest for my when insuring my 98 A4. Insurance on the TT and the Chim were laughable though.

As far as them having fingers in many pies, isn't car insurance a loss-leader for most companies these days?

There are no popup ads currently and implementing a yearly subscription would take up a great deal of my time best spent on other things (best for readers of the site that is).

can you actually tell?

I let most of the ones on PH creep through but stopped some simply due to the huge distraction and annoyance they were causing (the kerridges ad in particular)...
