DB9 Indicator flashing problem?

Hi,

Hoping anyone has any advice.

I installed a pair of rear clear lights units yesterday and now I have a problem, when I use the o/s indicator the indicators flash fast with a warning on the dash, no problems with the n/s indicators or hazard flash, no lights are out, it just flashes fast!?

When I change the o/s clear light unit to my old red unit everything flashes normally?

Is the problem with my car or the clear light unit I installed yesterday? if so is there anything I can do except replacing the unit?

Some DB9 need to have a program uploaded to accept the clear light, see list below:

I thought the software upgrade is about the hazard warning lights with the ignition on?

What about installing a resistor on the indicator circuit??

It sounds like a faulty unit if the N/S lights work normally.

Plug the apparent error clear light into operating side harness and see if works ok.

if it doesn't and problem stays with lamp, then lamp is faulty.

if you plug the lamp in and works fine, the body control module needs the SW upgrade to enable clear rear lights.

in all cases if upgrading to clear rear lights, the SW update is needed to avoid minor gremlins

Mike , can you do me a favour and explain why you'd need a sw upgrade for clear lenses please .
