Filming outside your gaff.
Discussion
They are filming Germany's best known (and utter pants IMO) TV detective series, Tartort, outside my place in Berlin right now. Girl on the pillion of a shítty bike is going to shoot the prisoner in the back of the Kripo's (German CID) Volvo offroad thing.

The target.

The murdereress is next to the pillar.
Anybody ever filmed outside your gaff?

Not my house but a couple outside my offices in Birmingham.
Colmore Row covered in skid marks after the filming of a car chase of Kingsman 2 (didn't see, it was at a weekend).
Brindleyplace - they used to film a lot of the location stuff for Hustle and included the atrium of my office as a hotel reception. So you had to hide between takes and then scurry out quickly if you needed to when they were done. They hid Robert Vaughn behind a pillar in an easy chair so he was a trip hazard - is tripping over one of the Magnificent 7s feet a claim to fame?

They filmed "The Girl with all the gifts" up the road from me at a deserted office building

They filmed the first 5mins of an episode of the crime detective drama (that was on the telly before Midsummer Murders came along) outside a house about 8 doors up from my mum and dad's house when I was a kid. Some Georgo bloke was in it. No idea why they filmed it round Eastleigh! I remember we put it on the night it was on and went "Oh yeah, look" and then never spoke of it again.
Can't find the clip now. Would help if I could remember the name of the bloody show!

The fake English Elvis (Alvin Stardust) filmed a green cross code information advert 2 seconds up the road from me.

When I was in Dubai we used to get a fair bit as I was in a prime location on a main road.
I finished a run early one Saturday morning and watched this get filmed outside my apartment.

Not my 'gaff' as such, but the MOD training area that is right on my doorstep, and happens to be my MTB go-to location, has hosted all sorts of filming.
Bond movies (x several), Johnny English, Transformers or X-Men (my son saw that set when he was MTBing, I missed it), and loads of telly stuff. Midsummer Murders, that daft SAS drama with 'im off of 'stenders in it, Soldier,Soldier way back when, they all come to mind.
Local airport has two disused runways, one of which was used to film scenes from Criminal, most recently, and Rush (until recently the set for that was still visible on satellite images on mapping websites). Minley Manor is nearby too, and that has been featured in The Omen, and way back to the 1960s heavily featured in Mosquito Squadron (1:04 in this clip... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qb9k9CNCHo8 ) starring as a French Chateau and the target for the bombing mission.
Film production companies love MOD land as it means fewer prying eyes, and bits can be closed off to accommodate filming without pesky ramblers insisting on using 'rights of way' through closed sets. During filming for Criminal there were some temporary diversions of footpaths and bridleways for the duration of the filming, and (sheeted) Herras fencing all round the set.
Funniest one was when I was in the military and filming took place on Hawley Lake for Sahara. Everyone had heard that Penélope Cruz was starring in it, so there was no shortage of volunteers to work guard duty or as extras. Then, when it came to the filming it was only for the opening sequence where the gold is loaded to the ship during the American Civil War, over 100 years before Ms Cruz's character makes an appearance, so no sign of the lovely lady herself on that set, nor any ladies on screen at all as I recall. The same lake was used for the work-up period for the boat stunts for the Thames chase in The World Is Not Enough and it also featured in It Ain't Half Hot Mum ( https://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http%3A%2F%... ).
I was part of the RE unit that built the Bailey bridge for the prisoner exchange scene in Die Another Day...
Bond movie replica of 'The Bridge of No Return' between N and S Korea.

The real thing (according to an internet blog).
...it's amazing what can be achieved with 'dry ice', some set dressing, and a bunch of ex-Gurkha extras in N.Korean uniforms.
That's just the stuff I know about without researching deep into the subject. There's loads more not too far away too, Gladiator among them. I often pass the pink direction signs put up by the crew to help get around the various bases and active locations when they're in the area and wonder what it is they're filming this time...

I had an episode of The Professionals filmed at my school. They didn't even close the school, just filmed for about a week with all of us children running round in the background. Imagine trying to do that today.
It was a hot week in the summer, and we had a window open in our classroom. Somebody upset the maths teacher and he wanged the wooden blackboard duster at their head. Said child ducked, out of the window flew the duster, and it smacks straight in to Gordon Jackson, square on the back. Teachie (a mean barsteward who had beaten me on occasion before for trifling transgressions, sure he was a pervert too the old goat) was a trifle embarrassed and apologetic. Class was delighted.

They filmed Children of Men at the back of our digs a few years back, pretty funny listening to one of the night shift lads waking up to the sound of gunfire & hitting the deck upstairs shouting what the f
k what the f
k!! He'd just come back from iraq & thought the house was under attack
