This year we couldn't get into the Arnage or Mulsanne parking because "the tickets had been sold out" yet when we walk past the car parks having parked further up the road for free, the car parks were at the most half full.
It is mentioned on the ACO website that rainfall may affect parking
http://www.lemans.org/en/News/last-minute-info-on-...
but the car parks we saw looked in fine condition.
To me they've lost a bunch of money by not allowing people to buy tickets on entry to the car park as we saw lots of cars being turned away.

We drove to Arnage Saturday early evening - waving our campsite car pass at the chap seemed to do the trick. Most other cars in there were displaying a specific pass though. Car park was around 3/4 full.

Yet another example of ACO inconsistency.

We should've driven up in a more confident manner waving some coloured paper at them.

Drove past Arnage @ approx. 11:45 on Sunday and the whole area looked packed.

Then went down to Mulsanne and drove straight in to the car park with no problems - had a Parking Blanc sticker in the 'screen though. Watched the rest of the race from there.

Don't even get me started on this! Yearly tradition [for me] to watch the sunrise at Arnage, arrived by car 5am Sunday, the same car park I've visited probably about 7 of the last 9 or so years, girl on gate wouldn't let me in and pointed saying 'next one'. There isn't another car park though? I drove on and parked down a country lane. Probably less of an issue Sunday 5am, but was worried about getting towed, parked my quattro Audi considerately up the verge so I was in nobodys way

As the three of us who had made the 5am alarm clock walked back to the [revised] Arnage / Indianapolis viewing area, we saw the car park was full of UK cars. And when we walked back out an hour later, there was nobody on the gate, you could just drive straight in!

On Thursday evening we went to both Mulsanne and Arnage parked in the car parks using our Epinettes camping ticket. Definitely two car parks at Arnage, one immediately after the new rounabout the other about 250 metres up the road beyond it on the right.

Cheers for the tip! I didn't get chance to drive down the road any further south - I just came back the same way (to Arnage itself) now the road between Arnage and Arnage/Indianapolis corners is two way.
