Recommend a London Club

Im spending more time in London during the week and am bored of the usual corporate hotel choice for accommodation, meetings and dining. Can you recommend a London Club that is central, reasonably priced doesn't require you to participate in a strange initiation or join a 150 year waiting list?

Seconded. I've used the Moorgate club for meetings and events. Membership prices look reasonable (c. £1000 pa) though I have no idea of waiting list times.

I have had a meeting there (colleague is a member), thought seriously about joining just as a base for free time in london, not sure it's an evening place though?
