I have two solutions in mind - neither of which should involve seats, wiring or hoses: I think the thread has failed in one of the two hols and suspect the other never had a bolt in it!

1. insert a long piece of studding from above and affix nut and washer in footwell, pull studding back up and fit nut above OR
2. use a cavity fixing from above.

Both require the threads drilling out or use of 5mm instead of 6mm bolts

what about using a string resin to bond in a threaded insert

being a TVR the string resin may need some added chewing gum
