Just received this. Then just had to respond to it...
Dear Labour supporter,
Labour is the party of the NHS. Always was. Always will be. The Tories opposed the setting up of the NHS. They have opposed the investment and reforms of this Labour Government.
Yesterday Michael Howard highlighted one case, that of a patient who had her operation cancelled several times. Where that happens, it is unacceptable. In a health service that treats one million people every 36 hours, not everyone will get perfect treatment. But for Mr Howard to take one case and use it to undermine the whole of the NHS is typical and wrong.
I welcome the fact that the election debate is beginning to focus on the public services. People will not easily forget the cuts and privatisation programme that undermined our hospitals for years. With Labour, spending is up, waiting times are down, standards of care are improving.
When we launched our Proud of Britain campaign, and asked people what made them proud of Britain, the NHS came up again and again. Today we are putting just a sample of these "Proud of the NHS" testimonies on our website and we're asking for new comments too. We want to know what makes you proud of the NHS. Share the stories from your community. There is so much to be proud of. So let's hear about it:

Labour is the party of the liar. Always was. Always will be. The Tories oppose the appointment of the army of thousands of expensive bureaucrats that has ruined the NHS. They have opposed the waste and deliberate mismanagement of this Labour Government.

In a health service that treats one million people every 36 hours, hardly anyone will get perfect treatment. In fact thousands are dying of infections they contract in our hospitals.
I welcome the fact that the election debate is beginning to focus on the public services. People will not easily forget the pages of highly paid, ridiculous jobs that appear in the Guardian every week and which account for a huge percentage of the money that should be spent on Doctors, Nurses, hygiene and essential equipment. With Labour, taxation is up, waste is up, bureaucracy is up, hygiene is down and you get away with it all by telling bald faced lies to an increasingly less gullible electorate.
When you launched your Proud of Britain campaign, and asked people what made them proud of Britain, the NHS came up again and again. However, nobody asked for billions to be squandered on political nonsense while standards went into tailspin and politicians ignored Doctors, nurses and patients. Today you are putting a sample of some of your lies on your website and you’ll be putting more up over the next few days. You don’t care what makes people proud of the NHS.You’ll just tell whatever lies you have to in order to stand a chance of being re-elected.
The coming election will be a fight for the future of Tony Blair. We have to win it before he wreaks further destruction on our society, our culture, heritage and proud international status. With the help of the millions of people who are sick to death of the sight and sound of him, we will.

This story realy has got Labour rattled hasnt it. They are already in full attack mode calling it a stunt by the Conservative party. Its not a stunt for the Damn patient who is suffering though is it Blair you C**T

Can't fault the sentiment and agree entirely, but I'm afraid I am a total cynic in that I truly believe that there is so little difference between the choices of party/ ideology we have in the system at present, that to the man in the street there would be no difference no matter who was running the country. Taxes will continue to rise, red tape will continue to thwart the good work of those in the caring professions/ public services, and the ordinary people of the country will continue to be marginalized by the minority groups of whatever persuasion that have managed to grab the attention of the totally out of control press! gets off

I'm afraid to say that the Labour spin machine has got to you. The idea that Labour has Conservative policies and occupies the centre-right is just another lie designed to make middle England feel comfortable about voting for a party that will stick a knife in their backs.
Labour = high tax, high spend, interventionist socialism.
Conservative = low tax, low spend, low bureaucracy, rewarding initiative and ambition.
Two very clearly divided ideologies.

Labour stands for kneeling, hands raised, for the latest state handout while the Tories stand for making something of your life yourself.
