Do they use the same grey units like we do? Also does anyone know what the trip speed is i.e. 10% + 2?

Cheers

I think at the moment they are unable to give you points, but I think they are looking at bringing it in!

The fixed ones I have seen are large square beige coloured boxes, and look nothing like cameras. The waring signes are a motorbike above a car with what are supposed to be radar waves travelling towards them
They are at ground level, not on raised posts like the grey ones we have in the UK. The mobile ones I believe are on a tripod with the camera mounted seperate.

They are looking at having a system in place where you can be fined and have points added to your licence.

Have a read here

I belive its only the start. Before long you will be able to receive a fine and penalty points from any country.

Just came back from a week's skiing in the French Alps, and my friend got stopped doing 166kph - she was told that 4 kph more and she would have had her license taken away...

Just got back form Skiing in the French Alps, bloody loads of speed traps, Luckily was in the CRV (so nothing too illegal) but my mate got done doing 169km/hr and got a 90 Euro fine.

One of their weapons is a small radar thing on top of a grey tripod about 18 inches high, they set it about 200m from the place they are waiting to get you, not sure if it just tips them off so they can zap you as it didn't look like a camera.

Using unmarked peaugot estates with camera equiptment in as well.

My mate said when they pulled him they were pulling loads of Brit cars and one swiss, no French!!

Although they are still painted in Gendarmerie Bleu, so easily spotted. The one I followed had a 'porthole' in the back for aiming the camera out of, so it would look very inconspicuous parked up in a lay-by.
