My Vixen S3 has the ignition switch on the steering
colum like the M series. It looks original, but because there is a place on the dashboard for a Lucas ignition switch I think that a former owner changed
this in my Vixen. Was the ignition switch on the Vixens (S2/S3)always on the dash?

My S2 vixen has the ignition switch on the switch panel,my'72 1600M uses the same switch panel but has ignition on the steering column and the heater control cable through where the panel is marked ignition, sometime during the later vixen run the column changed to alocking one but the switch panel ran on to the early M's

I have indeed a late Vixen S3 (May 1972). At that time they also started with the M series. So using the same steering colum /ignition switch makes sense.
Any S3's out there with the ignition on the switch
panel?
