Morning all,

Had my first experience of a track day, but not in my own car. We were on holiday in Portugal and driving down towards villa, I spotted a sign for Portimao track. I remembered watching the GT4 video with Chris Harris, and i recall it was filmed there. So I took a detour and went for a nosey.
As it turns out, you can hire a choice of 4 cars and pay by the lap. So I booked the Cayman S and decided to give it a try.
I went back yesterday, and WOW what a great experience, loved it. I'm not sure how that track compares to what we have around the UK, but I would love to do it again. I'm not 100% that I would want to take my BGTS, the tyres were hammered by the time I had finished in the Cayman.
They let the family in to spectate and wander around to take pictures, it's such a shame that the track now seems derelict.

I think you need the help of a teenager!

What a brilliant thing to happen whilst on holiday; i would love to do Portimao one day. Understand many use it as a winter testing track. Now THAT would be a holiday to savour; spending a week doing laps smile

Big track, lots going on , lots to learn, up and down everywhere, quite the roller coaster. For me it didnt flow took ages to learn, didnt really learn it in the time either so bit frustrating. Been twice for TD's second time it rained and rained and rained....went round in the Focus diesel hire car instead!

Can we discuss Jerez instead smile ?

I loved it. Couldn't learn much in 4 laps. And it was quite expensive at €60 per lap. But I'm glad I did it, and wouldn't hesitate to do it again.
That Cayman S must have been upgraded, it felt quite quick at the side of my BGTS. I have only done 210 miles in it though, maybe it needs a bit more running in.
