It's obviously only a model "jet", but still a shame.

Just seen this thread and so glad it was a replica 
Although sad at the damage anyway.
I drove past northbound at 1214hrs just as BiB were arriving. Looking to my right I spied what looked like (for some reason it didn't look quite "right") a Spitfire lying on the bank with its wings detached (for a moment I thought the Luftwaffe had come to send us a message re Brexit!). My heart sank that such an iconic and rare machine could be damaged, and on the road no less - especially as I'd been watching a real 'un do aerobatics above the skies of Goodwood earlier yesterday.
As has been mentioned above, the greatest shock was the flat bed truck it came off of. It looked like it was attached onto it using adjustable straps, there seemed to be no custom-made blocks or chocks to stabilise it in transit - very poor and no wonder but I hope it lives again
BTW - the traffic southbound won't forget it - queuing miles past Guildford.
