Hi fellow PHers! I'm a die hard Le Mans fan and have decided to go back for the first time since 2004. I'm originally from Poole but have been living in Canada since 2005. Going with my Dad and five others. A few questions since I haven't been in an age. We are thinking of booking the TD private site on the Porsche Curves. We usually stayed at expo but I can't be arsed with the trance and general annoyances that go with the public sites. I've heard good things about the TD site, but does anyone know about noise levels there? Not from the track, but fellow campers. Are people fairly considerate? Any feedback is helpful.
We want to get seats for the Dunlop grandstand, but are concerned about the distance from the TD site. The lady from TD told me it's a 20 minute walk which I find hard to believe, but maybe I'm wrong! Thanks for any help.
So, who else is going next year?

Yep I would say at least 20 min walk on the outside past MB. A bit longer if you go through the village. Think the private sites ok for noise but you never know who will be outside it playing euro trance

Thanks for the reply. I thought the village was on the inside of the circuit, over the Dunlop bridge. Has it moved?

There's two private camping areas at the Porsche curves and I forget which is which but one's inside in a corner of Beausjour while the other's outside. In either case camper noise shouldn't be too much of an issues, with the one outside the circuit being even better. Basically if someone's being inconsiderate 'inside the fence' then the private camping organisers will sort it out as 'don't be a tt' will be somewhere in their T&Cs. Of course if you're up against the fence with someone annoying just the other side there's nothing anyone can do.

Regarding distance I think TD are being a little optomistic there and it's more 30min to get all the way to Dunlop.

I posted a list of private camping TOs in another thread earlier this week and you might want to check/compare them. Speed Chills' and PistronHeads'/1st Tickers' private areas are in inside the the Bleu's so opposite MB and a lot closer to Dunlop. Team Prawn are in I believe a completely private area at Tertre Rouge so have same control over noise as the outside Porsche curves site.

We, a group of 20+ from Porsche Club Ireland are going and staying with TD in their Event Tents Area. Their other campsite is on the outside of the Porsche Curves and we stayed there last year at LM.

Due to some drop outs we might have a spare package, PM me or email whelanporsche@eircom.net

Here's a map.
