Adult Chicken Pox - Hell On Earth!!!!!

So for the last 34yrs it would seem I have been either very lucky or very lonely as I haven't experienced chicken pox.....until now!!!!!! OMG! Its horrific, my daughter had it a fortnight or so ago and it was hard trying to help her through it but she was a trooper and its all cleared up except a couple. Then on Tues eve i noticed some spots in my hairline, didn't really think much of it until Weds morning BOOM i am riddled with them - mouth, gums, throat, ears, face, back, hair even my Prince Albert didn't escape!!!!!!!
Spent hours on the internet assuming that in the year 2016 when we can travel through space, help people walk again we must be able to make this go away or at least be a touch bearable but it seems not. Few old wives tales about calamine lotion, oats in tights in the bath, bicarb soda in the bath thats pretty much your lot.
I am struggling to contain myself and not sure how much longer i can bear the pain/irritation/look of this vile virus.
Can anyone suggest anything that might help ease it or speed up its time with me? At the moment I am suffering the most with them in my hair and would do anything for some relief from the constant burning and irritation.

IIRC it's similar to shingles. I had that about 15 years ago. It felt like somebody running a cheese grater over my back.
Btw you probably already know this but Chicken pox in an adult can be fatal. Somebody I use to work with had the last rites read to him as the Doctors were convinced he wasn't going to recover.

Not yet, I am hoping that will start soon so they start to crust over. Have some calamine lotion on route to me now - got to be worth a shot i suppose!Just don't know what to do with myself, went out to hoover the missus car earlier to take my mind off to, that was a mistake as I got hot in the sun and they bloody loved that!
The only slight bit of relief I have found is sitting on the floor of the shower with the head on 'power' so by the time it drops down to me its lost a bit of its momentum but feels oh so good!!!!!!!

Had it 5 years ago whilst on a road trip with friends. It was terrible. Pretty much constant fever, I looked like I had the plague so anyone who would cross my path would look at me in disgust and cross the road to avoid me. No nooky that week!
The itching was relentless and sadly I gave in a few times and have the scars to prove it, luckily they aren't too obvious!
Soldier on and get drunk lots to make it go quicker....

Did anyone who got it late have brothers and sisters that caught it but you missed out? I've never had it (33) but my brother and sister did, somehow I avoided it. I thought I may just have a little resistance to it, apparently my Grandmother didn't catch it despite having 6 siblings and 3 kids. Maybe I'm just lucky, for now
