GT4 to 991.1/991.2 GT3

Ummmm....

4500 miles in and the GT4 is still as special as the day I drove it out of the dealership. In my mind the next logical step in my GT experience would be the GT4's big brother. This afternoon, I popped into my local OPC and sat in a 991 GT3. I may be getting picky, but the PDK steering wheel, PDK lever & 18 way adjustable seats just aren't in the same league as the LWB's and the simple purposeful interior of the GT4. Hopefully the 991.2 GT3 will fix this initial impression with a manual lever and availability of the LWB's - undoubtedly subject to being able to get one.....

Thoughts??!!

1. I thought the new, smaller GT steering wheel was meant to be well regarded?
2. Re gearbox / lever - try it, you might like it!
3. The GT3 was available with bucket seats

Put your name down for the next GT3. Those who have seen the internal model briefing will confirm it will get a number of parts from the RS, including the engine, and will also have a Manual gearbox option. Think 911R but in an up to date GT3.

Latest Car mag has an interesting albeit briefish comparison between the GT4, 911 R and 918 Spyder. Mentions the GT4 gearbox has a 'better' change than the R....lets hope the next GT3 'manuel' benefits from this.

I guess the GT4 having the 918 seats and steering wheel gives it that slightly more modern feeling inside. Had a PDK Cayman R for all of 6 weeks, just couldn't get on with the gearbox. Had folding buckets too, but the mesh just kept reminding me of the headrests in an Escort RS2000.
