Spot light lamp 400
Discussion
The correct bulb has a short flying lead (power) and is earthed via the bulb metal mounting hardware when fitted. If the bulb does not work then you have an electrical issue with the lamp itself or elsewhere.
Turn on lights, main beam on, multimeter .... look for power at the lamp if none there then some simple tracing of power back will find the fault. If power present then it's a earth problem.... again trace back to fault ... Simples

Sorry I always seem to be contradictory, but my Airports have halogen bulbs with two terminals; the bulb's held in by a spring wire. The unit can have either one or two wires exiting it; in a one-wire setup there's actually a short wire from one side of the bulb holder to the case of the unit (which is then earthed by its mounting stud) or there are two wires from the bulb that exit the case and need connectors to the car loom. On the 390SE both lamps are 2-wire, but some of the spares I've bought over the years have one... but none of them have that bulb shown above... they have an H2:

which clips into a holder as above.

Well there you go.... In my ownership of 280-350-390-400 never seen them with those bulbs but we learn as they say
As far as I can establish, the Cibie Airport (or Iode) Model 35 has been around since the dawn of time; you see them on 1970s Yank tanks and 1980s French hatchbacks. As well as chrome you can also get them in black crackle finish (IMHO suits the Wedge better as it's not a chromey car) and with yellow or clear lenses and with fog or long-range lenses so it's entirely possible they made variations of the reflectors that could accommodate different bulbs.
So we're all correct
