ACT air induction hoses

Just fited these today. A bit of a swine actually.
The 'L' shaped section from air flow meter to plenum needed cutting down about an inch nearly at each end. It then fiitted well after softening the ends in hot water.
The two sections from filter to air flow meter was tricky. I first inserted the steel connector piece into the start of the longer section (bulkhead to AFM). I then aligned the short piece (filter to bulkhead) with the hole in the bulkhead and pushed the metal connector into this through the hole with counter pressure on the other side (2 pairs of hands needed!). The jubille clips were tightened each side of the bulkhead then the other ends could be positioned as necessary. I did not need to trim down these 2 pieces as they fitted quite snuggly.
It was neccessary to remove the steel cylinder that the filter attaches to (screw near bonnet hinge) to manouvre the pipe and allow better access. Tightening the jubilee clips behind the grill is a real fiddle so need thick skin and good ability to clot blood! Alot of the fitting needs to be done by feel rather than under direct vision.
With everything in place it looks nice and neat.
Good luck to anyone else planning to fit this mod. It does look good.

As mine should be on the front doorstep on Monday, thanks for the 'hands-on' advice - now know what to expect and will go in search of another willing pair of hands before getting stuck in. There is a first aid kit in the car and I'm quite handy with a needle and thread.........

Ther fact that it was only an hours work, would say to me its an easy job for a TVR diy'er
. Not forgetting that it will improve the airflow into the engine and thus make it better

Yes unfortunately only black for induction hoses , the reason is that the manufacturers have to run a good number (20s) of each shape and colour bearing in mind i have 7 different tools makes it very expensive for me to have more than one colour and huge stocks.

Hi Jem, Tim fitted one to my Griff last month (no Tim, I haven't forgotten you need the original back - Martin is swapping them this week). Once i have the manifolds fitted I will see Charlie and have it tested. It will be interesting to see what difference the induction pipe and de-pre-cat'd manifolds make (along with a service)
