Boxster Spyder

I like these so thought i would have a quick look at some for sale, fk me £80=£90k for a boxster? last time i looked at the spyders they where under £40k!
I know i,m way out of touch and no doubt they are great but thats just madness.

Indeed, the older ones should be worth more than £40k

New one is a bargain compared to other new cars these days. Since I got mine, I've hardly driven the 991RS

Frankly speaking I think it has to do with the 718's engine being a bit st.

In my view there's little point in buying a 718 for the weekend when the engine sounds rougher than an inline-4 turbo and the n/a flat sixes already had more power than one can use on winding roads.

People looking for a quick daily driver will buy something like a Golf R/A45/Focus RS instead and save a wedge of money, people looking for something special for the weekends will try to get a GT4, Spyder or 981 GTS.

I've been pestered by several OPCs and independents wanting to buy mine but not selling. Rarity is the thing with these....c quarter of the GT4 production in the UK. Sure fire classic as guaranteed last of the na. If anything I find more usable than the GT4 also as engaging 99 percent of time for road use at least. Fun factor higher also...always brings smile to your face and attracts more attention than GT3 and 4.

A mini 458 Spider at a bargain price even second hand for sure. Sounds as good too.

my dealer in the U.S offered me a discount of 3k on an in stock stripped model a month ago. so yes, only in the UK as with all the other inflated models. GT4 in the U.S only truly command a 10k premium if you really want to move.

For the majority of UK road use, I find the Spyder as rapid as the 458. More chuckable, narrower. After all, same effective width as the GT3. 'Better', more involving gearbox too (although I like the F1 Ferrari box nearly as much as the PDK S. Btw). And all for a third of the price new too.

Dont seem to sell even at 80k. Anyone know what they actually sell at and what is the flippers cut 10k ?
