Hi

Forgive me if there is a new member's section, but this is where I'll spend most of my time, I suspect, at least initially.

I'm from South Africa, and I've always been a BMW fan. I spent a few years in the UK from 2002-2007, and really enjoyed it there.

Currently, I have a 2011 E90 325i M Sport AT - it has around 30k miles on it. That's really my wife's runaround to get to the office and back. My daily is a 2013 F10 M5 in Monte Carlo Blue. It's got around 33k miles on it.

What brought me here was me trying to get a really good handle on E36 M3 ownership. I recently picked up a simply immaculate 4 door Estoril Blue M3 3.2. It's a 1998 model with around 58k miles on it. It is completely stock and original, even with the original HU and CD shuttle in the boot.

Being a teenager when they were released, and not having the means to afford one back then , when I came across this, I needed to have it.

I've done a bit of reading on this forum and the generosity of members with information and assistance is phenomenal. Thanks for that.

My car has the odd issue - the HU switches on, but nothing else works. The display is temperamental and decides when it will show what it feels like. Both ceiling seats back rests do not adjust - I hear the motors turning, but no action.

I noted evidence of a very minor fluid leak on my garage floor as well.

BMW dealerships in Johannesburg don't really seem to have any technical expertise on these cars, but I have identified a few specialists who remain a legacy from when these cars were new.

I will try to put a few pictures up soon.

Hi, hopefully someone will be along shortly with suggestions as to what those issues may be but you might also want to search the forum linked below which I found very useful and helpful when I was running an e36.
