Straps in boot

The boot carpet in my Mk 2 has 2 nylon straps on the LHS. What are they supposed to be for?

Ah. Thanks. If I had one I doubt I'd feel the need to store it there. Maybe I'll just Usenet for shopping. Or hairbrushes.

No prob.. My car came with the tonneau cover so I just kept it folded up there mostly, I only used it a handful of times - like if I knew I was about to do a long drive in the blazing sun for example.
