Just caught first episode on Sky OnDemand. Its on Discovery about some young beardy characters building mahoooosive custom diesel trucks in the US. Seems ok, the Beardy characters aren't irritating me plus the ladies in sales are easy on the eye too. Will give it a few more episodes anyway.

But interesting business model, seems they're able to build and give away a $100k truck based on the income their website generates. Guess a TV show wont hinder the business either.

Arrr - Spotted this on 'Catchup' last night, had a rather nice looking black high-rider Jeep on the advert.

I'll give it a try later. Thanks.

Their formula seems to be

Take standard vehicle
add a Cummins diesel
add a massive turbo
add "military" axles bought from a breakers yard
add massive wheels
make lots of exhaust smoke
have hairy dude or skanky female staff promote
sell

Seems like harmless entertainment, an OK way to pass 40 mins if pre-recorded.

Yeah, begs the question how you clamber in the things without looking like a complete t!t.

I watched the first series about six months ago and found it hugely enjoyable.

Check out their 'Shop' truck........

They have done some awesome builds.

Thread resurrection...anyone else like this show? Some really unusual vehicles bought, modified or created, almost all powered by big powerful diesel engines.

dont watch the show any more (since i got rid of any ability to), but used to watch them, now follow them on Youtube, where they release somethign most weeks, but not always build-y stuff, theyve been doing a lot of interesting recoveries recently (mahoosive diggers/boats etc), which is quite good. Seems to be genuinely unscripted as well which is nice, and theyre making up a lot of it as they go along. Not really 'essential' viewing, but its a decent way to spend 20-30 mins with a cuppa

That's what I do but with the series, I record it at nights and watch it with my pre work pot of tea!

Do the still do the “massive injectors, lift kit, huge turbo” builds?

I thought they got in to some trouble with the EPA and had to stop.

In 2020 they received an $851,451 fine and are banned from defeating polution controls on vehicles. If the start doing it again they will be in contempt of court.
