I've just bought this Schwinn off eBay and I'm trying to find out a bit about it (Year/Model Name, etc), but when I've searched for similar frames they all seem more curvy. I can't find one anywhere with straight frame tubes. Does anybody know about these? Any help much appreciated.

Is it definitely a Schwinn?

I might have a sticker on it, but that doesn't necessarily mean it definitely is one...

However, someone on here might have a better idea...

Well, that's what I'm beginning to wonder.
They did some straight bar ones, but I can't find one on the internet with exactly the same frame layout.
It's either very rare... or not a Schwinn. I'm hoping it's the first option!

Could trawl through here:

Personally I don't think it's genuine.

Normally with that triple triangle frame design the downtube would be curved as would the cross brace with a few exceptions but it just doesn't look right to be a real Schwinn IMO.

I wouldn't be so sure - there seem to be several pictures of similar bikes described as "Schwinn" on t'internet.

Could be.

The seat stays on those La Salles on google are curved though, the OPs are not and the top tube has a different bend to it.

Looks similar to the Kona Humuhumunukunukuapua'a (its the national fish of Hawaii if youre interested) but that bike looks a long way from stock pictures I can find... Looks nice though, I wouldnt worry too much unless you paid a significant premium based on it being a Schwinn

Thanks, I think you're right, it's a Schwinn "Heavy Duti". thumbup

That one seems to be the same frame, but mine looks like it's had replacement forks.
