I was just looking at availability of PS4, and unless I've gone mad the prices of tyres (on the usual website) across the board seems to have increased by at least 20% since a few weeks ago....?

Absolutely - but am I correct that the price increases are 20% ?

I'm sure the LEAVE campaigners thought this all through and bought ten year's worth of tyres in May.

Once the trade negotiations have concluded, there'll be a Customs Tax, Customs handling, extra VAT on postage (just the same as currently you have to pay when importing goods from USA) plus a new 35% Channel-Tax, hehe

Well, there you are. Someone smarter than most of us once said that one should be careful what one asks for.

I didn't vote for this st, those who did will have plenty of time to think it through.

Tyres I bought recently seem to be 10% more today.

Why wasn't the cost of premium German car tyres mentioned in the referendum debate?

hehe

So... bought PS2s right and sold gold right (ish).

This makes me gloomy - there can only be a litany of financial lash-ups and wrong calls to follow.

Just hold on. Tyres will be cheap as chips after the EU collapses. After all it is all so rosy the other side of the pond.

Yes some tyres have gone up in price. Tyres are purchased in $ so if the GBP in down against the USD which it is at the moment you will see tyre prices rise. At the moment the £ is about 12% down. We will have to wait and see what happens.

Yes its true.

Tyre prices have ballooned. Its all of the hot air putting pressure on the market. Its inflated values and I would keep a low profile for a while.

Get a grip and tread carefully.

GBP dropped by 12% but some prices are way over that. I suppose uncertainty (and potentially opportunistic pricing) is going to hit every aspect of the goods we buy from the EU.

I don't remember tyres being more expensive in 2014 for instance, and I always seem to be buying tyres hehe but I can't be sure.

PS I think MTR is slipping. He lost his marbles a long time ago, but now he's showing his age and cracking-up.

Harsh words. I'm sure he'll feel deflated when he reads them.

Just the usual profiteering on the back of a scare story I expect.

How many tyres have we imported in the last few weeks?

In making my comment, I was looking on the internet at the 'best' outlets to source tyres - I think most of them are based on the continent.

Oponeo, tyreleader, and tyres-outlet for example.

Camskill prices are up, but they might have low stock in the UK, and therefore have no option.

Yeh well, you are showing excessive wear around the shoulders! Perhaps you need your toe adjusting?
