ppl/prs license free music

[DKL]

I've just received my renual from ppl. I recall last year I thought I would investigate music I can play without these licenses as it's about £300 a year and the companies (especially ppl) are really unpleasant to deal with. But I'd like to play music.
So has anyone done this and if so can you suggest some sources of half decent background music?
Thanks
David

Depends on the premises, but http://www.jamendo.com/ has some interesting options.
