Can anyone recommend a value for money torque wrench to go in the garage and used on the 7 ?

I have a larger scale one (>28NM) so looking for something at the smaller end and not huge money.

Loads on Amazon....but looking for a recommendation ...

Thx

The clarke 1/4" one from Machine Mart is good value and fairy robust!

I have a proxxon 23349 (6-30nm) and it seems like good quality for the price. Much cheaper on the German Amazon (52€) than the UK one (£65). Check eBay as well.
1/4 inch drive though.

Personally, I'd always go for a Norbar who also make some of the Halfords preofessional ones. The quality's right and they're not too hard to get repaired or calibrated.

I'm confused. 28Nm is definitely at the lower end. I'd expect to be doing up bolts by hand feel for anything that low. What is there on a 7 less than 28NM?

Anything smaller than M10 / 3/8" is lower than 28Nm. I used my 5-50Nm quite a lot during my build.

I had a high torque range wrench already for my recent build of my Twenty, but wanted one for the smaller bolts.

Ended up with this one from Wera, beautiful quality tool, made me buy the whole socket set from Wera after I realised just how good it was.

Very high quality, but not cheap, but I would never recommend any one to buy cheap tools especially one you need to be accurate.

Thanks folks.

Close to £100 is not in my budget for something that will be used once in a while (this isn't for a build), but understand the comments around being careful with "cheap".

There are lots of bolts that require less than 28Nm, especially around the steering rack and dampers etc.

Have a look at some bicycle torque wrenches. Typically 5-25Nm, but tend to be a little cheaper....

Failing that, this one looks good value: https://www.machinemart.co.uk/p/laser-torque-wrenc...

That looks almost identical to the Teng of that capacity but a few quid cheaper. Probably not bad though I've found Teng a but hit and miss occasionally.
