Dylan would appreciate some good thoughts please

Dylan, our 9 year old greyhound, was diagnosed with bone cancer today

He will be going back to the vets tomorrow for a front leg amputation. It won't be a cure, but it should mean that he is pain free and has a little longer with us.

Please think of him tomorrow if you have time. Thanks.

Damn Osteosarcoma . Greyhounds and large breed dogs seem so prone to it.

Bless Dylan but he will feel so much better once in recovery, that leg will be sore for him now. He will bounce back and hopefully have more precious time with you.

Sorry to hear that.

But dogs cope with cancer very well indeed, and also with the removal of a leg. They just carry on as if nothing happened.

Slight change of plan - the vets were concerned about operating so close to a weekend (probably sensible) so have rescheduled the op for Wednesday.
