What's going on?

I'm seeing more and more people having a pee at the roadside.

Not in the bushes or over the wall or hiding between open doors, but full-on stream in plain view, even on the motorways.

I feel sorry for the wildlife.

Is this some mass bet on social media, or are we turning French?

There was a time when you could actually drive for couple of hours or so without needing to drink half a gallon of Coke in the process.

That time still exists. I do not drink in my car nor do I eat food. The only thing I might munch is a Werthers Original or a spearmint candy nugget. If I must eat, then it's the next service station. Can't stand getting grub in my crevices and stuff.

Not at a price higher than petrol from a bottle.

I have had to do this when stuck in a traffic jam. Absolutely bursting.

My cunning plan was to pop the bonnet on the truck, look all concerned about it overheating and slip the old fella out and pee through the grille.

The cloud of steam as the piss hit the hot radiator was quite authentic albeit a bit stinky.

Relief biggrin

What a stupid comment, it has no relevance.
It made me chuckle.

Someone piss on your potatoes this morning, Cotty?

In my head I am currently considering how I could make use of the fact that the engine cover in the Rascal, which I'm taking on a long trip next weekend, is accessed by flipping the seats backward, and from there in the driver's seat I can pull the passenger seat up and see the road below me through the engine. A funnel and some tubing, maybe? or do it in a bottle and then pour it away to the idiot tailgating me (if there's one there at the time...)

No im just fed up with people posting crap that has no relevance to the thread subject. This forum just seems to be going down a never ending spiral of negativity and nasty comments just designed to piss people off. They usually go like this:

I just bought a new car.
Its st.
I haven't said what it is yet.
It will probably be st though.
I suspect it was a joke

Quite therapeutic, remember doing this a kid on my dad's hot lorry exhaust when he had to stop (many times) for a young me needing a pee, despite not needing one 10 minutes ago at services/cafe.

In reply to the OP original question, guess it's the lack of public toilets and towns (which may have had toilets) being by-passed. Plus you're not likely to stop at a petrol station just for a pee like you would at services, not to mention supermarket petrol stations where the toilets are in the shop cafe itself.

As for the 'remain' comment, having just traveled the length of France I'm sure you'd see more of this activity there, ffs the ladies have to pass the men standing at urinals to get to the, shared, cubicles - they aren't shy.

I occasionally get 'caught short' on my travels. I'm a sales rep, not doing a huge amount of distance but sometimes spending hours at the wheel. There are instances where I've had to stop for a pee because there's no other option.

I figure as long as you're doing it out of site and not in plain view of traffic then there's no problem? It's only a little bit of pee.

Thinking of the wildlife?! Where do you think the wildlife goes to pee if the service station toilet is out of order?!!

Cotty, are you feeling alright?

I hope we don't see one of those, 'I can't seem to stop moaning at people and none of my friends want to spend an evening out with me anymore', threads from you? biggrin
