996 airbag reset tool

Hi all, does anybody have any recommendations for an airbag reset tool for a 996? If it can read other error codes that would be a bonus.

I'm considering durametric although my preference would be a handheld scanner. Maybe icarsoft POR, although it's a little expensive. Anybody have experience with this tool?

I have had this problem with many vehicles and found that disconnecting the plugs for the pretensioner wires under the seats that operate the air bags helps, then re-attaching them and turning on the ignition, usually the light goes off,I have had many successes with this method.

Brilliant thanks, I'll give it a go. I thought that it had to be cleared.

It came on after I replaced the ignition switch (which was a horrible fiddly job) so I've probably disturbed something. Could be the pre-tensioners as well as I moved the seat and was contorting myself under the dash.

Just to keep this updated it turned out it was the ignition switch that I had replaced. I removed it, refitted it and all was ok. Didn't require any code clearing.

In the meantime I have bought the icarsoft i960. I don't mind as it will come in usual.
