Having got a speeding ticket, just after I bought the Chim, "but in the day car"
, I am seriously considering buying a road angel.
However, I beleive some of these devices are going to be illegal soon and so I don't want to spend £400 to find it is useless.
Anyone any knowledge experience or advice.

I think I may have got collared yesterday driving to Norwich by a scamera van, on the bottom of a hill, behind a large grass verge (you could only just see the top of it until about 200 yards away).
I reckon I am ok, as I was only doing about 75-77 when I saw the top of the van and backed off, I still gave him 'the finger' as I passed though
Observation is much cheaper and safer than relying on an electronic device.

As alans says, the DTi has confirmed that GPS-based devices will be safe from the ban; only laser and radar detectors will be affected.
The Road Angel is a fantastic piece of kit. I use the RA Classic, and my old man has the RA2. Both are great, although the RA2 is better made, has better features and is more user friendly.
That said, I love my Classic and considering the bargain prices the older model can be had for (and the fact that to turn off laser detection, one simply unplugs the external 'fatman'), it's well worth a look.
I bought mine from NetworxAutomotive - very good service and they even have an ex-demo RA Classic with lifetime subscription for £250
