Put a bunch of them together and they could row over anything and everything....

My wife is involved in the PTA. They plan to sell ice-cream at sports-day.

One type of Cornetto has nuts.

One person has gone nuts over the nuts..... I've heard more about nuts than I can stand in the last 24 hours....

so 1. Is it fair to expect some responsibility from parents/kids as to choosing their ice-cream

2. More examples of pointless arguments would be good.

I suggest selling only frozen water, Cornettos obviously contain milk stuff as well, as will any other cream based icecream. As for water based stuff, no telling what kind of chemicals are in there!

In fact, best to have everyone stay at home sitting on the floor with pillows strapped to back and front so nothing bad can happen.

It's not a woman thing - this sort of goes back to that Walts/Dads Army thread

If you put people in a committee - there are some people who just want to make a point, put a thumb print (any thumb print) on the event. I would put my money on they saw 'nuts' as an opportunity.

- Shall we have Cornetto's?

- BUT WHAT ABOUT NUT ALLERGIES?!!?

I am afraid they are committed now...you won't hear the end

I was on a committee once and £50 odd quid needed releasing for a first aid kit - fine, a process is a process. Then the chairman tried to start a discussion of what should go in it......WHO CARES!?! We have a nurse on the committee - its 10 pm, lets just give them the money and trust their fking judgement and go the fk home.

Micro management really pisses me off

Whenever my wife has her friends round, I occasionally wander through the room. There tends to be 4 of them, and I usually find three are talking at any one time.

The other one is normally taking a breath, slurping from a glass of wine, or looking desperate as to what they can say next...

I normally go out to the garage.

I just think, based upon my experience of course, that women have complicated friendships which includes a lot of disectng what one of their friends has:

1) said
2) looked
3) stayed silent
4) not been in touch
5) been in touch
6) lots more interactions.

The disecting involves going over it all and assigning a meaning to it, usually one involving some negative conurbation, then a decision about how to proceed with the friendship.

Blokes on the other hand just take the piss out of each other (obviously not in NP&E of course smile )

Obviously her committee meeting is based upon the same approach scratchchin

Nailed it! It's all about their interactions, true motives, who said what, who did what, how something can be split or apportioned blah blah. If your a guy you either find someone a dick and ignore them or they're just a regular joe, or a mate, it's dead simple and does not need discussing or verified.

The bit I've never understood if one of them is missing then convo will turn to that missing persons negative aspects, (usually agreeing or one-upping that) yet none of them seem to think the moment they themselves aren't present the convo will be all about them.
