Last night I went to see the new Mike Leigh film, set in the austere 1950's about a back street abortionist, starring the excellent Phil Davis.

Highly recommended, anyone else seen it yet??...

I saw it yesterday afternoon. I don't usually get tearful at the movies (unless watching 'Bambi' or Charlie Sheene ) but this was so sad and the performances were so incredibly moving. It is one of the most powerful films that I have ever seen. It really makes you realsie how lucky you are.

I fear I'll get dragged along to see it because my wife and I used to know the girl who won a Bafta for the costumes.

I'm sure it's very worthy but I know I'll just doze off.

Unless it contains a bank heist, car chase, aerial combat or girls in stockings and stilettos, I'll doze off, trust me.
