I've finally wandered over from the TVR ranks and purchased a 'SP10' Vantage S... bouncebiggrin

keeping the Tiv for the time-being just in case its not a love affair, but 200 miles in I'm a very happy bunny!

This is the car here: http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2016...

Quick question to the veteran Vantage owners on here... where is the best place to mount your phone cradle, run cable etc? At the moment I'm thinking a suction cup mount above the headlight controls, which sticks out far enough to reach the phone comfortably with my right hand for music and nav adjustments. If anyone does this too, how do you run the cable to that corner of the windscreen neatly?

Cheers!

Best to use the blue tooth connection and if you look closely at the door pocket here is a leather strap to put your phone in!

I just use a Keanu airframe holder in the right dash vent, just pushes on/off, no need for any drilling/cabling. If the power gets low in the phone I just plug in a USB lead from the cig lighter

Have been using the Kenu Airframe, in leather, cradle on the centre vents for the past few months. Perfect, and no drilling etc.

Another +1 for the airframe, used them in all my cars for years now.

Keep the TVR too! It's great to walk into the garage and say " which car should I take today? The Aston or the TVR"?
Life is good!

I would have taken a picture of the phone in place but....

It is the Airframe+ leather edition suitable for the bigger phone. I was careful to go to their website and order direct. There are stories that there are fakes out there, even on reputable sites.

Cheers for this. Any issues with glare/reflection?

No glare issues and since I started using Waze the factory satnav hasn't made an appearance. However, one minor issue with Waze is that it runs the battery down really quick. I found that a USB converter mounted in the cigarette lighter socket charged at 600mA as opposed to the factory USB socket under the armrest only pushes out 350mA. It's still a nett loss but a long journey doesn't drain it right down.

Many thanks once again. I'm familiar with much of what you say as I'm a heavy Waze user and fellow net power loser!

I have one similar to that, both ports marked 2A or so. I questioned that current, as I was still dropping charge over a journey. I have a little USB power meter which can monitor the current through a USB lead. That's where the data is from. It's not surprising that the manufacturer would limit the current on their power outlets.

The meter I use is similar to this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00NPVZHAO/ref...

It depends on usage. For me it will only happen if I'm running waze, streaming music and have the screen at full brightness.

I bought a Aizbo which seems to look the part and hasn't fallen off yet. Particulalry like the adjustability https://is.gd/GYMeOK

To power the phone I uses a RAVPower dual USB adapter which allow me to play music, run Waze, bluetooth the phone etc and it will still add to the charge quite quickly. Cheaper ones just seemed to overheat and conk out quite quickly. https://is.gd/PMANKx
