I'll soon be putting my Cerb back together after its new paint job and was wondering if any of you have had issues with number plates and the law. Before the respray I had a sticker number plate on the bonnet which probably wasn't legal but it was the correct size. I had no issues with the police or at MOT time but this time I'm going for a 3/4 sized plate. So I wondered if anyone has the same and if they have had any problems.

Don't know what it's like down your way but up here the police are on a crack down for some reason on number plates. Anything wrongly sized or mis spaced is being pulled over, Christ I know someone who was pulled and 'advised' because there dealer details weren't on the plate. It's a f**king joke really.

On the plus side this was all on a day to day car. On a tiv, less chance to get caught unless it's a daily driver.

Had 3/4 size plates on both mine for the last 12 years, never been stopped (not for the plate anyway).

Here's a Q... With Brexit will our plates with the euro GB badge now become a misrepresentation and therefore illegal?

3/4 plate on mine for almost 16 years without a problem. I think that the front of the car is quite small, especially next to more modern cars, helps it look standard.

It's just another legit reason for the police to pull you.

Risk you run 😊

3/4 plate it is then, I'll keep a spare full size in the boot for MOT and for swapping over if I get pulled. Cheers all.
